SnapDesk is the platform that gives you a clear overview of your IT systems. Interactions and dependencies of different systems are shown exactly.
Security for sensitive data
When developing SnapDesk, the main focus was on the security of your data. There are a variety of security mechanisms within the platform to prevent unauthorized access to your SnapDesk environment.
Two-step authentication protects you from spying on your login information
The optional two-step authentication prevents unauthorized persons from spying out your login data and breaking into your SnapDesk access. Registration consists of two stages:
- Your password
- Security key – one-time password
The one-time password is generated by generators that calculate either time-based or event-based passwords. While only you know the password, the generated key can only be obtained through physical possession. This combination is very difficult to steal.
ACL – IP-based access restrictions deny unauthorized access
Using what is known as an access control list, you can enable access to your SnapDesk access using IP address ranges. Above all, this enables protected access within company networks and when using VPNs.
Password complexity makes it difficult to be careless
Access to the platform requires the assignment of passwords, which must have the following characteristics:
- At least 8 characters long
- At least one number or special character
- At least one uppercase or lowercase letter
Secure transmission thanks to SSL
The use of SnapDesk requires the use of an encrypted connection using SSL. This secures your sensitive data during transport to the SnapDesk system. In addition, the SSL certificate helps prevent data being accidentally transferred to an unauthorized system.
