SnapSoft at E-Commerce Berlin Expo 2023

For the first time, SnapSoft was an exhibitor at the E-Commerce Berlin Expo this year. Our team was tense, expectant and excited at the same time in the run-up to one of the largest trade fairs in the e-commerce sector in Germany. Now that the event is over, we take a look back and tell you about our impressions, experiences and what we took away from the show.

The E-Commerce Berlin Expo 2023

This year’s E-Commerce Berlin Expo was held for the seventh time. The leading e-commerce event is aimed at online traders, e-commerce experts, IT professionals and service providers associated with the industry.

9000 visitors were expected, 17,000 were actually present. Long lines of people in the entrance area at the beginning of the event, the dense hustle and bustle throughout the exhibition area and the omnipresent high noise level were proof enough of the high density of visitors.

In total, over 250 international exhibitors presented their innovative products and services and gave lively insights into their part of the e-commerce world. The SnapSoft team will be there with an attractive booth in a prime location. In the luggage: a lot of information and materials around our repricing tool SnapTrade and the anticipation of good conversations and an interesting exchange with our visitors.

In addition to the exhibition area, the fair scored with an impressive range of presentations by industry experts. Over 70 speakers shared their expertise in presentations and workshops on a wide range of topics from the e-commerce sector, online retailing and online marketing. Unfortunately, the SnapSoft team had little time to listen to the interesting presentations.

Impressions from the E-Commerce Berlin Expo

SnapSoft team members were fully enthusiastic about the show, reporting it was an “impressive event” where “attendance far exceeded expectations.” The atmosphere was great, even among the numerous exhibitors.

The SnapSoft booth crew had many interesting, open and intensive discussions and was able to establish good and qualified contacts. The audience was international; visitors to the SnapSoft booth included prospects from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, the United Kingdom and Italy.

The SnapSoft booth was visited by many retailers who have or want to set up their own webshop and were particularly interested in our online store price optimization ShopSPY. In addition, there were plenty of cooperation requests, including from payment service providers and store suppliers.

Existing customers were also among the visitors to our stand, some of whom we were finally able to meet in person after many years of partnership. Surprisingly for us, some of our customers did not yet know all of our SnapTrade products. The trade show thus provided the ideal opportunity to provide our customers with information on our entire product range.

We had an insightful conversation with the partner manager of JTL, a well-known ERP provider in the field of e-commerce. The JTL booth was right next to ours, so it was a good opportunity to consolidate our new partnership and discuss future joint actions.

A special highlight was the visit of Michael Atug, digital rock star, expert and speaker in the e-commerce sector and founder of the online community Multichannel Rockstars. A snapshot with the all-round genius was also included. We look forward to seeing you again in the summer of 2023 at MultichannelDay in Cologne. This will be the next big e-commerce event where we will be present as an exhibitor.

SnapSoft at the E-Commerce Germany Awards 2023

The evening before, the SnapSoft team was already on the road at the E-Commerce Germany Awards 2023 ceremony in Berlin’s Modehalle. The annual awards are an online vote on LinkedIn in which companies with innovative e-commerce solutions on the German market can participate.

There were a total of 12 competition categories this year. With SnapTrade we were represented in the category Best Analytics / BI Solution. Thanks to our LinkedIn voters, we had made it to the finals.

The excitement before the award ceremony was all the greater. Although the awards went to other companies with equally innovative e-commerce solutions. But being there is everything. We were happy to be part of this atmospheric event. Over 500 people were present, the mood exuberant and cheerful – a great foretaste of the next day.

What we take away from the E-Commerce Berlin Expo

Overall, we felt the e-commerce show provided the ideal platform to showcase our SnapTrade repricing tool. Our visitors were very interested and open-minded. Especially the demand from online merchants for ShopSPY was overwhelming compared to our Amazon price optimization and eBay price optimization – an indication that there is still a lot of potential here.

For us, this means that we can and should still do a lot of educational work about the numerous advantages of our online store repricing tool for online retailers and expand its level of awareness in the national and also in the international environment.

A reunion 2024

The conclusion of our participation in the E-Commerce Berlin Expo is very positive. We had many insightful discussions and made interesting contacts. The concerns and questions of our visitors gave us great impulses to further develop and expand our repricing solution. One thing we already know: We will definitely be back at the E-Commerce Expo Berlin 2024.
